When the music’s over…

turn out the light, turn out the light, turn out the light. We all knew this day would come, we just didn’t know when.

Today I walked up one side of the park and down the other and didn’t see a thing worth taking a picture of. Oh, I might see something fun or pretty to show you from time to time, and if I do, I’ll post it here, but until then, we’re gonna have to put this thing on pause.

Before I go, here are some pretty asters, probably New England asters (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae), finally coming into bloom, but I’m sad to say that I couldn’t find an equally pretty butterfly, moth, or bee to pose on them for us.

  6. I’ve loved looking at the beautiful pictures you’re able to take and your fun way of educating us. It’s somehow comforting to know that all this is going on across the street!! My kind of urban environment! I’m also glad that this is only a “pause” – who knows, there might be critters making tracks in snowfalls this winter!!

    I loved every episode! I found myself looking more closely at the nature around me on my trail runs.

  8. Andy, thank you for this life affirming gift. This is an especially important chronicle considering the contrast of the west coast. And a reminder how precious and fragile our natural environment is. Motivation for each of us to reduce our carbon footprint.

    My aunt is a great lover of nature but cannot get outside much any longer. I just shared your blog with her as part of her birthday present. Everyone over here, and some family in North Carolina, will continue enjoying your beautiful photos and fun commentary on an “as posted” basis. Looking forward to your winter treks and seeing the progress of the beavers.
