The weather was as nice this morning in Estabrook Park as forecast, and yesterday’s sun had dried out the river trail mud quite a bit, so it was a perfect time for our weekly wildlife walk. The forecast snow has not yet arrived, but the clouds have been super thick all morning, the winds were light, and the temps were just below freezing. A cold day…
Before it shut itself off, my phone reported -9°F, with windchills to -25°F, in Milwaukee at 8:00am this morning, and local schools, including UWM, have canceled classes for today. The recent freeze in Estabrook Park deepened this morning with temps in the single-digits, and windchills well below 0°F. The skies were clearer than yesterday, on the other hand, and I still don’t see a single cloud this afternoon, so conditions were good for some nice pictures today. After the wind howled all night long, it had backed off to just 18 mph at sunrise this morning.
