Lots of ducks at Lakeshore State Park…
As advertised, I joined the Milwaukee Birders this morning at Lakeshore State Park, and we had nice, if chilly, weather for our outing. The “Quiet Water Basin” was mostly frozen over, and the little bit of open water, near the bridge, was chockfull of ducks. Temps were in the low 20s this morning in Estabrook Park, and a good breeze out of the west made them feel like the low teens. Lakeshore State Park really delivers…
The Milwaukee Birders were visiting Lakeshore State Park again this morning, and there have been a lot of sightings there recently, so I opted to ride down the Oak Leaf Trail to join them. The deep freeze continues to deliver…
It was a wonderfully curious or curiously wonderful morning in Estabrook Park, but I’m still not sure which. The forecast temperature was 29°F, but a strong breeze brought the windchill down into the teens, and it felt even colder than that. I should have worn another layer. The recent weather I’ve been enjoying in Estabrook Park just keeps getting better!
